Both the full and half marathons are out and back routes. The half marathon will turn around at the 10K point and head back to the start line for celebration festivities. The full marathon will also finish at the start line.
Yes! All runners will receive a shirt and “gift” for participating. Our shirts and awards both uniquely come from a company and orphanage, respectively, who are tied to our mission of rescuing children out of darkness.
RUN, SPONSOR, or VOLUNTEER!
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, U Run, yes! The course is USATF certified.
Because we’re a non-profit & working on a voluntary basis to put this race together, we simply don’t have the administrative capacity to receive registrations multiple ways, and therefore are only offering registration through Athlete Guild. None of us likes extra fees, but Athlete Guild provides a very beneficial service to help organize the race & supplies many helpful reports to operate smoothly, in addition to paying merchant account fees to Maser Card/Visa. It is a valuable service. We appreciate your understanding.
Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable due to administrative constraints and liability, respectively.
There are rolling hills the first 3 miles, which means you hit those on the last 3 miles, too. New Braunfels is in the Texas hill country, so there are some hills! Train accordingly.
We will have a friendly “King of the Hill” competition to see who can run the big hill @ Mile 10/Mile 23 the fastest…for those who ran the course in 2010, you know the challenge we’re talking about!
Definitely! We will have plenty of water, drink aid & medical assistance to meet your needs.
6.5 hours.
Due to safety concerns, strollers are not permitted.
You must be 18 to participate in the full marathon and 12 to participate in the 1/2 marathon. Minors will need a parent’s consent to register.
Results will be posted on race day & photos will be available within 48 – 72 hours.
